I have loved this digital camcorder from the first time I used it. For the size it is, it is an awfully good camera. It has many features, like a video recorder, voice recorder, digital still camera, and can be used as a webcam. This product takes very good pictures, if you are in good lighting. If you aren't the pictures may be hard to see. Seeing as there is no flash you have to have light in the background. If you want to be able to take for than 16 pictures at a time I suggest you get a compact flash memory card to hold them on. Also same thing for movies, to take a lone movie you have to have a memory card, there isn't enough memory built into the system to be able to take a long movie. Another thing is the battery runs out fast, if you goes low while you are using the camera your pictures may not be saved. So make sure you watch the amount of power in the batteries before it is to late. I guess you can say you get what you pay for seeing as this is an inexpensive camera. Overall, this camera is great if you have good lighting, a memory card, and long lasting batteries.

Overall this digital camera is great for novice users. The camera is very easy to use because of its well-labeled parts and simple menus. With all of the features and for the price, the pictures and movies are great. The only problems that I have found are that the camera has no flash, there are beeps when turning it on that will not shut off in any menu, and without a memory card it does not hold very many pictures. In the end, this is a great, cheep camera for low level to mid level users.

I've taken a few good shots. It has a lot of nice features, (Video works good)but wish it was easier take good pictures. The ones that did turn out looked good.brHas a manual focus where you basically have to guess a little bit. Hard to tell if it was in focus until it's on the PC.brNo flash and does not take good pictures in indoor or dim lights.brUsed up the provided batteries first day. Got NIMh next day.brInternal memory only stores about 10 - 12 pics, that are lost if batteries are removed, so get Compact Flash ASAP.brHad some strange lockups where I had to remove batteries to reset camera.brLCD can be difficult to see in bright sunlight.brSo if you get this, get the NIMh and CF card (You will need these for your next digital camera anyway), take a LOT of outdoor pics and you will have a few good enough to frame.

Like it---get a set of Ni-Mh batteries and a large memory card and enjoy. Don't leave the screen on always--ALL digitals will eat batteries driving the screen full-time.Does need good lighting. A small modification lets it do GREAT macro (close-ups)--I can fill a frame with an ant!.Took pic of screw threads (10-32 size screw). No, it's not a $300.00 resolution camera, but you didn't pay $300.00 for it either. I keep mine in the car.If it breaks, I will buy another--have really used mine.

I got this camera for Christmas last night. Being a teenager (and aspiring photographer who also loves to make movies) it's a great little knick knack. however, since i love to take pictures and love to make movies (and also like to listen to music) the fact that it comes with so little memory bothers me. It was very easy to figure out however, but the music was confusing. It was on the camera, but I couldn't find it. I knew it was there because I could only record 15 seconds worth of film. When I moved all the music out of the MP3 folder on my computer, all of a sudden I could get about 2 minutes worth of film. This is a great camera for the daytime and outdoors, and if you get more memory for it it'll be much better and more useful. There IS a flash for the camera, but it is REALLY intense. It's kind of a mixed review, but I'd say go on ahead and buy it, because it's cheap and it works for what it's worth.

I don't know if I got a lemon or not, but this camera has been a piece of junk from the beginning. I purchased extra storage card to use with it. The camera worked once with the storage card. I tried to get help from the Aiptek customer service. BIG JOKE! Don't waste money on this one!

This item was a TOTAL waste of money. I acutally bought 2 of these (one for each of my kids ages 7 and 9). The first part that was awful was the battery life. The batteries only last about 2 hours TOPS. Secondly, the pictures were awful. Also, the battery compartment broke on BOTH cameras after about 1 week of use. Maybe this is because we were constantly opening the battery compratment to change the batteries. Also, if you do not have EXTREMELY bright light, you will not be able to view your picture. This camera is pretty easy to operate and is small but that is the only good feature. Both of these cameras have ended up in the garbage with only about 2 months of usage. Please don't make the same mistake I made. There are much better cameras on the market at this price and megapixel range.

This camera is a great camera for the sunny outdoors. Indoors you should be in a lot of light for okay quality pics. The pics come out distorted with the slightest hand movement, so you must be still. There's is no flash so you must be outside for the best quality pics. It's a good camera for the outdoors but if you are planning on using it inside then you should think about getting the next level Aiptek. Also the video and voice recorder are not too bad. I reccomend this camera if you plan on using it for fun but if not then look for a higher mega pixel. Otherwise this camera is not too bad. I give it between a 3.5 and 4. Good luck!!

I purchased this camera (2 of them) for my kids (ages 14 15)as their first digital camera. They are having a lot of fun with them. My daughter has figured out how to put the pictures she takes on her "MySpace". It does not have auto focus.

This is a pretty neat little camera. I bought it this summer and have gotten quite a bit of use from it. I invested in a flash card (128 mb) and can take a lot of pictures and video on the one card. I recorded my kids entire marcing band performance at 2 competitions on the same card. The playback sound on the camera itself leaves a little to desire, but with the price you can't beat it. I have really enjoyed the ease of use, as have the kids. br /
It is a great buy!!! I am thinking about buying one for my 11 year old for Christmas.

When I first got this camera I was a little scared that i just threw money out the window, but when I was ready to use it I was amazed at the job it did. I recived beautiful pictures from it and I made my own home video. I brought it to sporting events and I captured beautiful films and pictures with it. I was amazed by what it can do. Now I realize that I wasn't just throwing away money.

I was surprised at the clarity of the pictures this little camera takes, and the videos are perfect, the women that could not turn the camera on or off, did not read the directions. if you want a cool device that people look at and say; is that a video recorder, and a digital camera?, but it is so small, let me see that, where did you get that?. i live in hawaii, and i send the most beautiful sunsets you have ever seen to my daughter in calif. this camera is so light and small you can take it anywhere. with enought light, you do not need an indoor flash, the batteries it comes with are crap, discard them immeditaely, and replace with good ones, the 2 things i would like it to include is an adaptor for car and home use instead of depending on batteries only, and a zoom lens, otherwise it is perfect, why spend all that money, on a video camera, and a digital camera when you can get both in this small cool package, also the tripod, is an extra cool

I bought this camera because I wanted something inexpensive, and it seemed to have pretty good resolution for the price. Wrong! Even the smallest photos turned out blurry because of the poor lens. Spend a little more money and get something useable.

I don't care what anybody says, listen to me. I bought this so called camera and it flat out sucked. You can't barely see the screen and you can't shoot outside cuz the pics are too bright and if you shoot anywhere else it is too dark. You might as well take the $ and throw it out in the trash, because that's what you will do to this camera if you buy it.

Bought this to use as a webcam. Piece of junk; images very jaggy, focus is an oxymoron. VERY disappointed with it. As for a standalone digital camera, save your money and get something that isn't made of plastic, has some sort of zoom, and can be focused. Nothing good about this thing.

I bought this DV camcorder thing thinking that it would be a great little camera/camcorder to take on vacations and to capture those unforgetable moments with. Boy was I mistaken! When it starts up, it makes a little tinny boop-boop-boop sound. The image on the lcd screen is horrendously grainy and the sound quality is extremely bad. Overall this camera is pretty bad. It also doesnt have a flash so you cant take pictures in low light. You also have to turn on the backlight to see the picture on the lcd and there is no zoom. The viewfinder is almost impossible to look through and it sucks up battery life like a hoover. Im selling mine at a garage sale.

Yes, this is a cheesy cheap little camcorder, digital camera, and voice recorder. But I've been having a lot of fun with it. The image quality is low, but fine for my purposes. It doesn't do well in low light, so don't expect to use it for recitals, graduations, or weddings. Save it for those casual times when you want to toss it in your pocket or purse and use it at a family picnic, zoo or a playground. It's very easy to carry around and use just for a few minutes at a time, no bulky bags or set-up hassles. I'm going to take a lot of short videos of the kids, put them on CDs and send them to the grandparents.brIt is very easy to download the photos videos. I purchased a Sandisk 256mb compact flash card and battery charger from Compuplus (online) to go along with the Aiptek. pI have a much better digital camera that I use for serious occasions or artwork. When I start enjoying watching family videos, I'll go out and buy one of those serious expensive digital camcorders.

This camera is great for people who are looking for a digital camera with an LCD screen, but don't have the money to buy a high end one. There were initial problems, such as having too little light for the camera. But, we got a flash card, and it works great. GET A FLASH CARD, OR USE IN A WELL LIT AREA. Also, the LCD screen is able to be turned off and on, so when I turned it off and my wife went to use it, she thought the screen was broke, so make sure you let the other person know. The battery drain sux, but we got rechargeable batteries, and it only cost us 15.00 dollars. You may have to invest a little more than the initial price, but, for a camera that records live action, and is a web-cam to boot, its wonderful!

The camera worked fine for about 15 min and the LCD screen went black and you couldnt see what you were recording. I was very disappointed in it. I recommend spending a little more money for a better product. I ended up sending this one back the next day after it arrived.

well since i bought this camera is been useless, you cant see the picture well and it does not work as a web cam. its so difficult to use.

Small size, light weight, and easy to use don't make up for poor picture quality and especially poor lighting (even in a well lit room). I'll be returning this asap.

this camera does not work unless you have full light.(my best friend has this camera) But it doesnt take a rocket scientist to turn on a light. its wonderful outside. the sound is only a little fuzzy but great. The picture is wonderful. I would suggest this for teenagers who just want to get memories of them and their friends. Its super fun to play w/ and for the price its great. The only down side is that you only get to record like 3 minutes but if you want to record more like 15 or 20 minutes you have to buy a card for like 80 bucks. but i like it i might buy it with my christmas money. Another thing is its really easy to work w/ few buttons its great and you can put pictures and videos onto the computer. I LOVE IT!!

I recently purchased the Aiptek Pocket DV2 Digital Camera.
I agree that you should take the pics outside as there isn't a flash to use indoors and the pics turn out dark and grainy. But really, you get what you pay for and when your shelling out less than $100 for a digital camera/camcorder, don't expect a whole lot from it. Other than that, it was a perfect gift to give my teenage daughter, because in case she ever loses it or breaks it, I'm not going to lose my mind over the expense.

It's a neat little camera. It can do a lot of things to be only $100. I love it. It could include a memory chip and a flash. But for only a $100, I can forgive these absentses. It's good to have around for everyday recordings, but not on an everday basis. Quality is good, the sound is good, and you will get a lot of enjoyment out of this little camera.

I just bought this item yesterday and its really cool! I'm a 14-year-old girl and I've always wanted a video camera and this thing is not only that, but a digital camera and voice recorder too! It sooo rocks. But I can tell you not to expect high quality videos. The pictures look great but the video is kinda eh. Its great for the money and I'm having a lot of fun with it!

all is great mic...web pictures...videos...and pictures so if you are looking for a good durable camera well get an aiptek(preferably this one!!)

It looks a nice camera but DON'T waste your money and don't waste your time. It is impossible to get a sharp picture with this camera. Besides, if you are able to find a way to make the camera work in connection with you computer, you will have a very bad web camera. I looked through all their tech support, but couldn't find anything useful. I sent a message to the technical support they never answer my questions. I'm very disappointed and I will NEVER, EVER buy anything from Aiptek again.

It is a great product but I don't like the fact that you have to buy a memory pack in order for you to get a longer amount of time on the video. I think that if you want to sell this camcorder you should in the least bit include a quot;32mb CF Cardquot;.To be honest I love the pocket sized camcorder and I am glad that my mother was able to affored it and give it to me for christmas, but it really does hurt that all my life I've wanted a camcorder and when I finally get one I have to spend more than half as much on a memory card then on the camcorder.

this is the best camera ever.i have had it for a year and it still works. if you bought tis camera it would be the best deal ever. i took this camera averwhere i took it to the outter banx 5 times and it still works. i got sand in it at the beach and it still works. if yo do not buy this camera you will miss out on a lot. this camera is pocket size and can go anywhere. if i could i would give it 12 stars out of 5.

this camera is the size of my palm of my hand.it is very easy to pack. and if you dont have a lot of money this is a good cheap camera.

don't waste your money on this! i haven't even heard of this company, but they really should consider improving this camera. the quality is bad, and dark. just looking at the lcd screen makes my eyes hurt. when hooked up to the computer, however bright your light is in your room, it's really dark and you have to toggle with the controls on a photoshop software in order to make the picture decent. i don't think that's worth it. and sometimes it doesn't even work, even if you do try to fix it in a photoshop program. and it has an annoying beeping sound when you turn it on and take pictures. you should seriously reconsider, if you're thinking of buying this item. unless you're extremely careful with it, and you don't mind the bad quality, then i guess it's okay if you buy it. but i wouldn't suggest taking professional pictures with it.pby the way, it broke by the second week that i had bought it. it must've gotten jostled in my purse or something, but it refused to turn on after a while, and when it did, it kept taking pictures by itself.

I bought this camera because of its compact size. Thinking if I didn't like it, I can always return it later. It was so complicated just to turn on. Then to actually be able see anything through the dark view finder(even outdoors) was just terrible. Then I couldn't turn it off,then a prompt screen came-up I couldn't figure out what to do... Buyer beware I could not return this or any of the other accessories I bought for it at a store. They need barcodes. So I sent it back still only got an e-gift card not a refund. Very disappointed in the product the outcome of the returned item.

The product and performance is 10,000 times better than the business. I lost my USB cable and have been trying to get a replacement for over a week. I tried to order is on line but get notification that the Purchase and the Accessories pages are FORBIDDEN!!! ACCESS IS NOT ALLOWED!!brI have called daily and no one responded to any of my voice messages. Finally got though to someone and was told that no one can take an order on the phone and I had to wait for the site to be upgraded. HE didn't know how many days it would take -- SO - I can't download any PICS until they decide to upgrade. Guess this camera will end up in the 'mistake' trash can.

I'm a 10 year old kid who is intrested in buying a good digital camera. This seems like the perfect thing. Features include 1.3 MEGApixels, LCD(or is it LED) screen, built in digital voice recorder, I could go on forever. This little baby seems like the perfect choice for me.
